- Q. What is the Student Group Starting Point?
- The Student Group Starting Point is a "hub" of information, resources and how-to's that are specific to undergraduate student groups.
- Q. Is this a new resource for student groups?
- Yes and no! The Student Group Starting Point is not new. Prior to December 2023, the Student Group Starting Point was housed on Trello. In December 2023, Campus Life moved the Student Group Starting Point over to Canvas.
- Q. Why is this offered on Canvas as a course?
- Campus Life opted to use Canvas because our students are already familiar with Canvas and use it frequently. While the resources on the Student Group Starting Point are called "courses" or "modules" we are using it in the traditional format. We are housing resources, documents, policies, procedures, and best-practices all in Canvas as a "hub" and "one-stop-shop" for student groups.
- Q. How do I use the Student Group Starting Point on Canvas?
- On the left side of your screen is a tool bar, you can access:
- Announcements
- Syllabus - Which is the home page / starting page for the Student Group Starting Point.
- Pages: where the bulk of information and resources are housed/located.
- Modules: where we have grouped together resources, policies, procedures specific to a topic.
- Calendar: will list upcoming important dates specific to undergraduate student groups.

- Every recognized student group has an assigned Campus Life Advisor. Reach out to your Campus Life Advisor with questions, concerns or feedback.
